Really cool!
This mask is really cool. I don’t think it really changes your voice when you speak, if it does we haven’t figured that out yet.. my 9 year old saved his Christmas and bday money and waited patiently for this to come out from pre-order. I was pleasantly surprised that it got here several months prior to the original estimated delivery date. The only downside.. it’s huge.. and heavy. I am hoping we can modify it somehow for him to wear it, but as it stands he can’t wear it, but still loves it and has it on display.

Fantastic piece for the Price
This Darth Vader helmet is not your run-of-the-mill Halloween store helmet. It is based off of the Obi-Won Kenobi series, therefore isn’t the all gloss black helmet like the previous. (You can see the difference in comparison to the 2018 version) It has a great quality to it. The magnets that hold everything together work well. I haven’t tested the sound yet. I will be using a voice box for sound with my suit anyway. It is very easy to see out of. Some mask lenses fog up when breathing, this one does not for me. It is well ventilated. 10/10 product that came way earlier than expected.

Incredible
This was beyond awesome; I almost wept when I pulled it out of the box. The accuracy, the details, and the fact that it fits me like a glove. This is my third Black Series helmet, and both Boba Fett and the Stormtrooper are just too small to be comfortable on my big old head. The Vader helmet has elastic adjustable straps inside that are so comfortable. It’s a little sweaty in there, but so worth it. I absolutely love this, and you will too.

This helmet was more than I ever could have expected! It fits incredibly well and has adjustable elastic on the inside to help it fit more snugly. I absolutely love the detail of the changing breath when the helmet comes off, which can take a bit of effort due to the magnetic seal. However, it’s all very easy and ergonomically made; the helmet fits comfortably, and I can see myself being able to wear it for a decent amount of time for cosplay.If you are looking for a Darth Vader helmet and can afford the price, then this is most DEFINITELY worth it.

This is pretty awesome!
I purchased this for my husband and he loves it. It’s really pretty cool in all honesty and we picked it up for $99 so it was a good deal. The construct is high quality and well-crafted. The soundboard is sweet and it fit my husband well. There is an adjustable strap on it. He wore it to hand out candy and the kids loved it too.

Lives up to the billing
I bought this for a Vader costume to be worn and not displayed. I was worried as a 6′ 5″, 240 lb. man that this wouldn’t fit and would be more suitable for a child. It fits comfortably, being just a little snug on my cheeks, but easy to wear for long periods of time. The look is movie-quality, its easy to breath in, and you still have a wide range of visibility. The sound effects are good and add a nice touch. Worth the price for a great replica.

Surprisingly Amazing
I went full nerd and bought this helmet. Holy cow it exceeds expectations. The attention to detail is excellent. It is not comfortable but it’s not trying to be – it actually makes me have a deeper understanding of the character, it feels very authentic to the cinematic version. To the reviewer who dinged it for “not being black”, take a look at the original helmet designs over the years. I didn’t believe it at first either, but his mask is an asymmetrical mix of black and grey/steel, like dazzle camouflage, almost. Super cool looking from any angle. Cheers.

Excellent quality, but a little small for a grown man
I am absolutely thrilled with the quality of this helmet. It’s very well designed and well constructed. It looks fantastic! My only complaint is that it’s slightly too small for a grown man to wear. I had plans to wear this for Halloween but was sad to discover the helmet isn’t wide enough to accommodate my cheekbones. I’m heavy but not particularly large (5’10”, 220 lbs.). However, I’m sure there are many people that this will fit comfortably. The quality, especially for this price, is outstanding.

A must for any Star wars collector.
Just got here today and it’s awesome. I understand there’s not much difference from the other Vader Black Series helmet, but from what I’ve seen, I like this one better. Amazing detail. The magnets are strong and make assembly a snap. I have one of the movie mold replicas, spent more back in the day, and I’d say this is clearly better. Now to wait ~20 years for my son and me to recreate the scene in ROTJ when Luke takes the helmet off.

It really does have the iconic vader breathing sound. There is also so much detail in the helmet itself. Sound effects from putting on and taking off the helmet. I have a bigger face than most being over 278 lbs. and this does fit me. The reason why I just couldn’t rate it 5 stars was that it does not come with a voice changer to sound like vader. Maybe the next helmet update could have both!!?? If so, I will definitely buy it!

Fantastic piece to have on display
This is my first Hasbro Black Series helmet and it’s great. It definitely adds a menacing dark side presence to my cave.Unlike the old version, this one is NOT 100% black. The face mask and neck are this shiny gun metal grayish color and it reflects light in such a cool way.The sound quality is about what you’d expect from a toy. Its loud enough to hear across the room but sounds like a toy.It’s pretty big for my head even after adjusting the straps and I managed to get my beard pinched in the magnets that hold the neck and face mask together. I was able to to see through the lenses just fine but my field of vision was limited to nonexistent when looking down. This is a display piece so the comfort and the lack of wearability don’t bother me.Lastly, there are some visible seams from casting or where pieces connect together but unless someone knows where to look or you’re admiring from a distance the seams aren’t that noticeable.At the end of the day I’m happy to have this and I would recommend it, but if you’re a high end collector it may not be for you.

So when I typed in the search bar to buy this it said Darth Vader black series helmet with voice changer. It shows up I’m super excited because the voice changer is the whole reason why I bought this and it has no voice changer. I love the helmet don’t get me wrong because I am a Star wars nerd but when you go to buy something and it says what you want then shows up and doesn’t do what you want kinda sucks. Good quality piece but yeah just be careful what you wish for I guess

Beware if you have a large head
So I bought this helmet to wear for Halloween as part of my Darth Vader cosplay and unfortunately, it didn’t fit my head and I couldn’t get the strap around my neck so if you’re a bigger guy I’d advise not purchasing this item to wear it. Now I must say I loved the look of the helmet and all the features especially the breathing noise and the detail is amazing so it would make a great display piece. To sum it up if you have a smaller head it will fit you fine but with larger heads, it’s not going to fit.

Really great for the money!!
I’m mainly using this Vader Helmut as a display piece. Considering what you’ll spend, it’s pretty much the best one you’re going to get…unless you want to spend a lot more. I mean a lot more! This one has some cool features, and the attention to detail to the inner greeblies and pieces that we catch from movie scenes, just wow. I appreciate that this has been upgraded with a more accurate neck piece from the previous version. This does make me want to have a full Vader set of armor to go with it. The helmet piece is a bit thin, but what do you expect for the price?? Top it off with the breathing effect, as well as the pressurizing effects when the face parts are put together, and you’ve got one heck of a Vader helmut. I didn’t even know about the uneven paint job on the cheek parts before buying this, and it’s absolutely accurate. I tried it on once and didn’t think it was very comfortable. But I had to try it. I’m fine with just admiring it on a shelf. Get it, you’ll love it.

best you can buy without personally creating the mask yourself.
This mask came in very fast. it is almost accurate, the y isnt as accurate as it could be. ither than that, i dont see much of a difference form the time period this represents.I do not have photos yet. i will have them as soon as i have the rest of my gear.I really don’t have much complaints about this mask. it is sturdy, its sticks to my head like glue. i can make it even more sturdy with one simple and cheap modification.This truly is a good purchase and y’all know how these things work. they are there and then they are not. with this being a competition breaker for other Darth Vader masks, it stands above the cfx one ( i think its called) and, well CFZ is a different time period.This one breaking into 3 parts makes it a whole new level of accuracy.i am happy and photos and videos will comes soon!

Bought this for my 9 yr old grandson, who is a huge fan of star wars, mainly Darth Vader! He LOVED it. Wears it all the time. I just thought it would also make him sound like Darth Vader when he spoke but it didn’t. Definitely didn’t matter to him! It does the breathing so he was psyched!! His brothers, who are 12 and 13 wear it as well!!

Solid memorabilia for any Star Wars fan
Just like the other review, I preordered this item when it had a January 2023 release date. I was thoroughly surprised to get a notification that my order was going to ship a lot sooner than expected! The packaging it came in is high quality and the helmet is no less. This is the real deal and you get what you pay for. I cant picture myself wearing this for cosplay since I’m way shorter than Lord Vader and the helmet to height ratio makes it look goofy, but I do intend to buy a stand for this and display it in all its glory. This helmet is based on the Obi Wan series, so don’t expect the high glossy black finish like from the original trilogy. The upper piece is gloss black, but the main helmet piece is more of a matte steel black finish. The magnets that piece it together are pretty strong, so it takes some force to remove the collar and the helmet apart. The sound FX are great when assembling and disassembling the helmet. All in all, I’m very satisfied with my purchase. But as stated earlier, the price is steep but you get what you pay for. It’s a very solid piece of Star Wars merchandise and every fan should have some version of a Vader helmet.

Big head, tight fit!
My hubs absolutely loves it! He has a big head and beard. He has to wear a gaiter to keep his beard in and it is tight around his chin. But it looks amazing and fits his size better than the cheap costume mask we had.

My childhood has come true
What’s a great 40th birthday present? This mask. It’s super authentic looking and feeling. Watch the end of Return of Jedi, and tell me I’m wrong. If only it altered your voice, but we still don’t have flying cars and actual hoverboards. Not a big deal. I had the costume mask/helmet, and this laps it 20 times. If you’re a Darth Vader nerd like me, don’t wait. Get it!!!

Great for most fans
Hasbro has done a great job with this upgrade. One reviewer was upset the mask was not all black…well, that’s a good thing because aside from Revenge of the Sith, all Vader helmets have this gunmetal/black color scheme. The red lenses reflect the look from Kenobi, and the additional length of the neck make this an incredible helmet. Some may find it expensive, but for a Vader helmet of this quality, it’s truly a remarkable deal.I said “Great for most fans” because the die-hard Vader fans will bemoan how the dome is not quite big enough, thick enough, or that the eyes seem off…I get it. I own three Vader helmets that are high end, and no, this doesn’t look as screen accurate as those. But for the price, the great breathing sounds, quality and overall look, it is a truly great helmet.

Darth Vader Helmet
This has to be the best Darth Vader helmet I’ve ever had. It definitely beats my old Rubies helmet that I had a few years ago. The details are amazing and it looks menacing. The only issue that I have with the helmet is that the dome is a fingerprint magnet, so make sure you either wear a pair of cotton gloves or just wipe it every time you’re done handling it. Other than that, I’m in love with this helmet and I highly recommend buying it if you’re a huge Star Wars fan.

Very cool, very comfortable, and it’s leGIT! The 3 Pieces connect perfectly together and it’s not as heavy as I expected. But, it’s heavy enough that it feels like quality. Comes with a plastic backing if you wanna display instead of wearing it, but pretty sure this is gonna get some use lol…Just get it, you won’t be disappointed.

The product came in perfect working condition, however the box looks as though it had been opened and taped back up but I’m just assuming that was for inspection purposes. The helmet is going to make a great addition to my Darth Vader Costume. The box did come damaged with the corners kinda banged up so if you’re a collector worried about box condition I would be slightly weary. Overall a 10/10 for look and appeal.

Better as a display piece than a costume piece…
I got this piece to wear for Halloween night, based on several video reviews posted by adults shown wearing this helmet, as I wanted a cosplay costume piece for greeting Trick or Treaters while handing out candy.First, the pros: it has excellent detail and is handsomely crafted. It actually looks like the prop helmet Darth Vader wore in the Star Wars movies.It takes two AAA batteries that power its sound effects: the vacuum sealing/breaking sound made when attaching/removing the face mask to/from the chin piece, and the sound of Vader’s assisted breathing you get when pressing a flush-mounted button on the right side of the chin piece. The sound effects are a nice touch, although I wish the breathing were on a continuous loop until you pressed the button again to turn it off.Being a full-size wearable helmet, it makes for an imposing and impressive display piece for anyone into collecting Star Wars memorabilia.Now, the cons: I’m a big guy, standing 6’4″ tall and weighing in at about 300 pounds, and it barely fits me. Because the chin piece fits so tightly on my neck, it limits my ability to move my head up or down and from side-to-side. The hard plastic construction offers no give around the jaw, as it digs into the tissue underneath my jawbone. This is an area that would’ve benefitted from less plastic and more padding.But even with all of the discomfort built in for guys with a bigger frame, like mine, it suffers from a critical design flaw as a costume piece: once you’re fully “snapped in” to the helmet, breathing becomes difficult. The mask offers both poor circulation and ventilation, and my warm breath was not only fogging the goggles (further limiting visibility), but adding to the heat build-up inside the helmet. As noted in the attached video, this is not an active light-saber dueling, Monster Mash dancing costume piece. The poor exchange of exhaled for inhaled air means you want to keep your respiration rate as low as possible, even to the point of talking as little as possible. And, if you live in an already hot climate, like central Florida, you will want to remove the helmet and face mask often to keep cool and towel off.For those with smaller faces, necks, and frames, these issues are probably not as pronounced, but the poor visibility coupled with the poor ventilation would be a deal breaker if you’re looking for an active night out with it. In that regard, it is certainly better suited as a display piece than a wearable costume piece.In my case, I’m going to live with its limitations and discomfort for Halloween night, just to help entertain Trick or Treaters that come to my home.UPDATE: After further review of the owner’s manual, I discovered that a plastic piece of grill work responsible for the severe lack of ventilation inside the helmet can be removed (see attached image). Removing the plastic grill does improve ventilation somewhat, but does little to improve air circulation inside the helmet.Because the helmet is marketed for “roleplaying” (according to the product description) the addition of a piece of plastic that the company knows restricts ventilation, and thus one’s ability to breathe freely once the helmet is on, makes little sense to me. I would strongly recommend removing this piece of plastic grill if you plan on wearing the helmet for any activity at all.UPDATE #2: I discovered that the main problem with trying to wear this helmet was the rigid, plastic neck band that holds the chin piece under your neck. When I saw another review of someone wearing the connected face mask and chin piece without the neck band, I decided to try it on, using only the head strap to keep the face mask in place. Much to my surprise, the mask actually fit on my head quite comfortably, and I was able to breathe much easier because my face and throat were not mashed up against the front and sides of the mask by the neck band. And while this worked, I still wanted to be able to remove the mask without having the chin piece fall off my neck.The solution? I got a 2″ wide by 60″ roll of black crafting leather from Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C774WKMV?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1) and used a pair of shears and a leather punch to cut a longer neck band! The new, leather neck band allows the mask to fit on my face comfortably, as though I’m not using any neck band at all, while still keeping the chin piece from falling off when I remove the mask!I’ve upgraded my review to four stars because of the increased comfort by making this one mod. And I can use the original, rigid plastic neck band for displaying the helmet.Now, tip for Hasbro: make an adjustable, one size fits all neck band for this helmet, and you will sell out of them next Halloween to all the big guys out there that want to role-play Vader!

Me and my wife are having a block party for Halloween with friends and neighbors and a few of us are dressing up and we decorate the yard and house and sit outside and pass out candy I am a big Star Wars fan and this year I am going to be Darth Vader this is an AWESOME!! helment and looks and sounds AMAZING!! It arrived a few days early I love it !! I feel like a kid again when I wear this with the rest of the suit I definitely recommend to get one for those Stars Wars fans I am not a big guy and I was impressed by how big it is but it fits perfect and I am going to wear it to go bowling with a few friends just to see how people react lol your never to old to have fun live is too short so have while you can no matter what your age is

This Darth Vader Black Series: Rogue One/ObiWan model is awesome
Looking at it put together is the first religious experience, putting it on, is the other. While I think for the sake of practicality, the front triangle breathing grill is a bit wider than should be, but by a couple of centimeters only. OTW it’s amazing. For the money, BUY IT!This Vader helmet being the Black Series v.2, the face part of the mask has been faintly “air-brushed” a gun metal shade of gray, to show contrast when the top helmet is attached via strong magnets. The mask includes detailed wires and faux voice modulators, nose tubes and best of all, the lenses are RED.Vader’s helmet in Episode V “A New Hope”, had RED lenses. If you look at Vader standing next to Governor Tarkin on the bridge of the Death Star, you can see Vader’s red lenses showing through, but best of all, you can see Vader’s (David Prowse’s) EYES peering through them, also, when Vader is defending the Death Star in his TIE fighter, you can also see his RED lenses and his eyes peering through again.I believe after “A New Hope”, Vader’s lenses went to a dark shade of gray up until Episode VI “Return of The Jedi”. It was only during (Episode IIIa) “Revenge of the Sith” that you could see Vader’s helmet from the inside as it was installed onto him (Hayden Christensen). The helmet is touted as being EP V and Obi Wan model accurate.The helmet offers THREE different SFX in different stages of operation; first, the normal functioning breathe in and out – second, a hiss sound acknowledging that the helmet is hermetically sealed on The Dark Lord – and third, Vader breathing but with a damaged breathing apparatus due to both Emperor Palpatine’s Force lightening as well as and Luke Skywalker having nearly vanquished Vader in battle. It’s a a sad sound actually. If you saw this duel between Vader and Luke (and Emperor Palpatine) in Episode VI “Return of The Jedi”, Vader nearly vanquished, lying on the ground wheezing made me emotionally choke up in the theater.Unfortunately this V.2 Black Series mask only provides four breathing gasps at a time, then stops. Then you have to press the breathing button on the right side of the neck scoop over and over again. The audio is LOUD and there is now way to turn it down. But you can buy the vintage Vader helmet with voice modulator chest box or 3rd party voice modulators that include some of the above SFX.This helmet is going along side my original Don Post 1977 Vader Helmet (not accurate), and the above mentioned Vader helmet with the attached voice modulator “Chest Box”.

Better than the official costume helmet
I recently pulled the trigger on the official costume and lightsaber (proffie), but the mask/helmet was terrible. This is good quality for hard plastic and a bit of a tight fit width wise for my wider than normal head, but once it’s on its fine. Time to start my long overdue Star Wars collection. I don’t think you’ll find a better Vader for the cost.

What the first one should have been!
Amazing!. The first one was nice but i always felt it fell short. The new sculpt on the lower part fixing the triangle and the neck as well as the paint scheme really make this helmet stand out. Worth every penny. Though i feel this is how it should have been done in the first place

Accurate reproduction of the original mask
First, this was said to be released in January 2023, but it came out September 1, 2022. It’s similar to the Black Series masks already released. But this is different from the others. This has a screen accurate color scheme which makes it accurate to A New Hope. What I was unaware of until this past year was that the original film, STAR WARS, had a Darth Vader filmed against a white background. Due to the all black costume choice, seeing details would be potentially difficult to see. So, they actually painted silver in different places on the mask to add highlights to the shape of the mask and texture. It made it easier to see what Darth Vader looks like and it allowed to show details on-screen. This mask has those details. It has the asymmetrical paint job of the original film. Subsequent films used a more highly polished version and they chose not to paint silver “highlights” on the mask.The other nice touch was the use of red-tinted lenses for the eyes. If you look closely in some scenes of STAR WARS (ANH) you will see the lenses are red tinted and not smokey lenses like Empire or Jedi etc.The mask uses magnets to keep the helmet in its place and the top portion of the mask can be removed (like in Jedi) and is also held in place with magnets. When you have just the bottom portion of the mask separated from the top portion of the mask, the sound FX of breathing is altered to reflect the sound from Jedi when Luke removes his mask. Nice touch!It’s easy to wear and I’d say not for a kid. It’s going to be displayed on a table in my house and it looks good doing it.I wish the breathing noise would loop longer, but it’s loud enough.
