    SMALL

I mainly bought this as a joke gift so I wasn’t taking too much time to inspect the item. I didn’t realize that they were miniature bars of soap, in fact I almost accidently threw it away with the box it shipped in because I didn’t see it at first. I guess they make it clear enough about the size if you actually look at all of the pictures and read the description but how many people are actually buying this item to use as their regular soap? If I wanted to pay extortion prices for soap I’d buy Dr. Squatch because at least those are full size bars that will last you more than 3 showers

    Fun little novelty gift

This is a fun little novelty gift for Star Trek fans. Be aware that it is only about 2 inches long. I was expecting a full sized bar of soap.

    Good stocking stuffers, so tiny

I’m not sure how big I was expecting this to be, but I was a bit shocked when I saw just how small it is. It does smell lovely and most importantly, I think my dad will get a kick out of it in his stocking. I’m happy with my purchase!

  4. Brian TerBest

    4.0 out of 5 stars

    Cool idea, but tiny.

This is a clever gift for any Star Trek fan, but it’s almost as small as hotel soap.

  5. Brian S.

    4.0 out of 5 stars

    Great, but small

Much smaller then I thought it would be. Think three fingers wide and half as tall. A great gift, but a little overpriced for its size. I was really expecting a full size bar soap. Even though after I got it, going back to the pictures, it’s pretty clear how small it is.

  6. Lena LeRayLena LeRay

    Quite small

This is on me for not reading the description, and just assuming it was a standard size bar of soap, but I expected this to be bigger. Fortunately, this is a gift, and the person it’s for will appreciate the pun and not care.

  7. Michael Strickland

Smaller than a red shirt’s chances of survival on an away mission

If you’re like me, you ordered this without reading the reviews and didn’t realize it would be the size of a matchbox. If you did read the reviews, then you know. Either way, this review that I’m writing is useless. But, admittedly, this was a novelty purchase for a friend, with no expectation that he’d actually use it to wash his body, so not a real big deal. But still, if the gag is that it’s a bar of soap, then it should be the size of a gods-darn bar of soap. They didn’t make it soap! I’ll take a refund if you’re offering!

About 3x the size of hotel soap

The bar was smaller than I liked, but the smell was amazing! Would recommend this to any star trek fan. As a standalone product, it wasn’t bad; just overpriced. It was very refreshing.

    Tiny soap, damaged wrapping

This soap is tiny and it does smell good. I bought it as a gift, but the wrapping is so damaged and worn. I’m much to embarrassed to give it as a gift. Too bad

Cute, but arrived with torn packaging

Should have been better packaged. It king of ruins the point of a cute silly gift when the wrapper, which is really the most important part of it, is damaged.

    VERY SMALL BUT GOOD

I SHOULD OF TAKEN PICTURE, I AM THINKING ITS REGULAR BAR OF SOAP, I SHOULD HAVE READ DESCRIPTION BETTER – ITS LIKE 1/2 BAR OF SOAP IF THAT. BUT IT GREAT STOCKING STUFFER FOR TREK FANS , MAN OR WOMAN. SMELLS GREAT.

    Cute but TINY

Like the others – my bad – I didn’t read the dimensions. I assumed this was a regular size bar of soap. It’s literally the size of a small pad of Post-it notes. It’s cute as a gag gift. But that’s it.

    Half bar miniature

Six dollars is a lot to pay for a half of a bar of soap. I thought it would be a bar of soap. I thought six dollars was a little pricey for a bar of soap but for a half a bar, it’s ridiculous. It shouldn’t be sold as a bar when it’s a half bar. That’s misleading and deceptive.

I for one thought it would be a bit bigger but I get what I get. The scent is amazing and of course it was a gift for my other half. He loves it.

Being clean, is the final destination

I love the pun! But PLEASE look at the reference photo! It smells uhmazing but it is quite small. Recommend keeping it on the shelf as novelty or using it as a hand soap for the sink!

  23. H. L.

Very small! Not what I expected.

My boyfriend loved it, but the wrapper wasn’t pristine. The corners were worn and wrinkled. I would have picked a different one if I had seen it in store. It had been banged around a lot.It is also very small, like travel sized. Not a normal bar of soap. The joke on the wrapper is 10 of 10, and the soap does smell good. But if you want soap for normal use, I would pick a different kind. This is definitely novelty soap. The Unemployed Philosopher’s Guild products are usually better and more useful. I was a bit disappointed.

    So small…

Positives: cute, smells nice, sort of cheap, Jean-LucCons: tiny, no packaging beyond what you see which let the corners become worn.I purchased this as a small Christmas gift for a friend, but now I’ll need to get them something additional because I didn’t want their gift to be THIS small…I would have given far less stars but fine print in the listing does technically say how small it is.

    Full of pun

The perfect small gift for my friend. The smell is actually amazing, but not quite Earl gray. Lol! Puns all around the packaging. Any TNG fan will definitely enjoy.

    Old Paper Package

The bar of Star Trek soap I received had all the paper corners worn down to the white paper under the printing making it look very old. This was to be a gift for a friend. Also there was a huge sticker that could not be removed on the back covering the art work assuring me this was a new bar of soap. Very odd to ruin the appearance like that for a novelty item dependent on its appearance.I had ordered also a Star Trek Captains Log and Star Trek breath mints about the same time for my friend which both looked new and perfect. No added huge stickers on these. Very nice. So I don’t know what happened with this soap? Old worn paper cover and a huge sticker on it. Not good for a gift.

    Laughably small

It’s a great gift, but I feel that a 3 oz bar would feel more satisfying to actually give as a gift. I don’t think people are buying these because of the value.

The wrapper wasn’t in good condition and looks very worn

I got this to give as a Christmas gift so I haven’t yet seen the recipient’s reaction, but I was personally a bit disappointed with the condition of the paper wrapper. The edges and particularly the corners don’t look very nice because the color has worn off. There is some wear on the sides too over the writing. It just doesn’t have the nice quality appearance I hoped for given it’s a present for someone. I’m not sure if the damage is due to shipping or if they’re all like this but the wrapper material doesn’t seem very protected nor does it seem waterproof so it’s pretty vulnerable to getting scratched off. There’s also a huge sticker over the entire bottom that can’t be removed without ripping the wrapper open which is also annoying and adds to the poor presentation this has for a gift.It does say ‘mini’ in the title but it is even smaller than I expected, tinier than the palm of my hand. The scent is fine but doesn’t really smell like earl gray as claimed. To me, it’s just like a generic potpourri odor. It’s pretty strong though since I can easily detect it without unwrapping it.Overall, this is such a cute item for a TNG fan. It’s a clever idea and has some fun little details. I just wish it looked better in person, especially since I imagine many people would want to display it. The price felt alright when I got it but I definitely don’t feel it’s worth much more than that for how small it really is.

Customer service is admirable. Very satisfied.

UPDATED ON 12/17/2023: The seller read my review and immediately worked with me on a very reasonable solution. They were polite, eager to assist, and very understanding of my concerns. I now have a replacement product that is suitable for gifting to my very discriminating Trekker. Top marks for service! Review score is updated.OLD REVIEW: I should have guessed with the description of the weight (2 oz) that the bar would be small (to be fair, some of the pictures provided in the description demonstrate the small size, but others suggest a larger bar) , but I was still surprised at how small. The packaging was also worn—unsightly scuffed corners worn through to raw paper—as if it has been tumbled for a while with other bars. This is too bad as it was intended to be a gift for my son, but I am hesitant to give it due to the “used” appearance of the packaging. Clever product, but could be handled better.

    Fun Soap

Good smelling soap, and of course the paper is amusing. Anything from this brand is worth the purchase. I wasn’t paying attention, the soap size is more like a hotel bar of soap than full sized. That was disappointing, but ultimately on me for not looking for a size. Fun stocking stuffer.

    Incredible Customer Service

My original review stated that I was disappointed with my purchase. I was very surprised when this company emailed me to apologize and offer to refund me. That says a lot for their business. I will not hesitate to buy from this company again.Original review:“This was supposed to be a stocking stuffer for my future son in law. Cute but tiny

Bought this bar of soap for my Star Trek fan of a dad. After I got it in the mail I had to search for the dimensions and they are WAY down the screen on the product description and they’re very small numbers. Regardless, it’ll make a cute gift!

    Tiny! Super tiny.

I guess I didn’t pay attention to the dimensions. It is super tiny, like I think my pinky finger is longer. I was expecting a full bar of soap size. Much thicker than a hotel bar of soap, but think that size. So, except for the largest text, it is difficult to make out the words. Still, my husband is a huge Star Trek TNG fan and thought it was funny.

As stated – the scent is awesome and love it.It’s just a shame the corners of the paper are damaged and it is so tiny.I do like plastic-less packaging but I think a note to the seller is to wrap it in cardboard or anything recyclable to protect it better.

Small but my mom still liked it

Wish the packaging wasn’t beat up- although it gave it a little bit of a retro feel if you’re going for that. Also way too small. But, my mom loves earl gray, and she loves Star Trek so she still loved reading all the packaging and the soap is sitting on a shelf with her other Star Trek stuff. Definitely wouldn’t have gotten this if it was for someone pickier.

    Stickers ruin jokes

I purchased 2 of these. One was perfectly packaged and hilarious. The second had a sticker put directly over the “make it soap” pun, which is basically the only point of the silly little thing. Very good idea for a gag or joke gift, bit not if your employees are covering the joke with shipping stickers. Also these are extremely small, like less than half a normal bar of soap.

    Interesting, but lackuster

I got this as a gift, the early grey was sutle but nothing to be yelling about. The bar is the size of a small childs hand, ultimately it is not worth getting. I was hopeful but it just is what it is.

Cute but surprised at how small

I apparently was so excited about the branding and stocking stuffer ability that I didn’t read the reviews and listing carefully enough as this is a mini bar of soap. Smaller than the palm of a woman’s hand and I was indeed surprised at how small it was. It looks cute and will make a good gift.

Very Small, Smells like Red Hots Candy

The bar of soap is tiny. This is a nice gag gift or stocking stuffer, but definitely not worth the money. Also, the fragrance isn’t great. It smells like artificially flavored candy. It’s a sickeningly sweet smell that kind of stinks up a room.

Very disappointed. I got this for my husband for a stocking stuffer and for the price, I expected an actual bar of soap. This is a joke! I would’ve never ordered it had I known how tiny it is. My 94-year-old mom is one of the ORIGINAL trekkies, from 1966. She still watches it, and particularly likes Picard. I gave her three Star Trek items for her 94th birthday, and she had a great laugh. She loved them all. But “Make It Soap”? Brilliant!

    Very small

Another great gift idea by the Unemployed Philosophers Guild – BUT IT IS SO SMALL! Its like stacking two or three of those complimentary soap bars you find in your hotel room. Another drag is that it ships unprotected. The wrapper was pretty worn on the corners and edges when it arrived. It was loose in an oversized Amazon bag with a couple plastic bag wrapped shorts. I imagine if it shipped with solid objects it woulda been really torn up. If you buy this don’t expect it to arrive pristine. If I received this as a gift the unspoken thought would be, “getting rid of some old stuff?” Funny – when I pulled the bag from the mailbox, the Earl Grey scent of this soap had filled the mailbox.
