Plays my original games well
I’ve read some of the other reviews on this and they say that it doesn’t play certain games. Not sure what the problems is for other customers, but I’ve had no problems playing my SNES games, including some that others have said they had problems with.I’m really happy with it. Plays all of my games, quality and feel are better than some cheaper consoles I own.

I Was Skeptical
I didn’t know what to expect with this purchase. Aftermarket retro game systems seem to be spotty on quality, but the Gamerz Tek really impresses me. It’s a well-built system: compact and solid, and it functions flawlessly. There’s a small gap between the controller port and the controller plug that makes it appear as if the controller is not plugged in completely, but it doesn’t cause an issue. The fit of the plastic pieces is a tad lacking, but don’t be alarmed: once you press the power button and feel the solid catch of it, you can tell that the electronics are sturdy, and that’s what counts. I read that some lag can occur when connecting a retro system to an HD TV, but I don’t recognize any lag. Even the controller, which is often the hardest component to get right, is dead-on. The games play exactly as I remember them–even games with the FX chip. This is an excellent console.

Gamerz Tek has scratched the gaming nostalgia itch.
This is a nice trip down memory lane. I had received a SNES for Christmas of ’91, which after all these years had proved to be my favorite console. Recently, I have been really put off by a lot of the modern games. They just seemed to be more flash than substance. With the retro gaming scene exploding recently, I dug out an old box that still contained several of my old SNES carts. The urge to play them again proved overwhelming, and decided to check local pre-owned game stores. All SNES consoles were too expensive, and I felt let down. Imagine my surprise when I pulled up youtube, and found a youtuber by the screen name of Gamester81 who reviewed a generically named ‘New 16-bit Entertainment System’ on his channel. I watched, and was quite impressed by his overview of this particular clone console. I decided that since it was only about 40 bucks, I would give it a shot. Well, I received it a few days ago, and I hooked everything up to my TV. Since I have an HDMI only TV, I had to use a special adapter that would covert AV signals to HDMI. It is a little kludgy, but it works out very well. I am REALLY impressed by this machine. It helps stroke the nostalgia with its looks, and the audio and video is quite clean. I know that the graphics may appear a little darker than how they appeared on the original SNES, but it is quite livable. The audio really surprised me, as it was actually quite punchy. I have had a bit of experience with using several of the clone consoles that are out, and this one is DEFINITELY one of the best I have used. The contents of the box are really nothing big: The 16-bit clone console, AC adapter, AV cables, S-Video cables (nice touch), and two SNES-style controllers. I have been impressed with the quality of the build for the machine and its controllers. They really feel like they came from Nintendo. The cross pads are nice and tight, and the buttons all worked just fine. The AV cables and S-Video cables were standard fare, nothing worse or better than any that are bought at the store. The AC adapter seems a bit smaller than I remember the original SNES one was, which is handy in my power strip. The console itself is definitely neat, as it feels and looks a lot like what the original SNES did. The buttons for Power and Reset are now just push in, instead of slide forward, but that is quite fine with how the machine works.Game compatibility: Here is where I am afraid I am not as helpful as I could be. I only have seven SNES carts still, though I played them all just fine: Axelay, Super CastleVania 4, Gradius 3, Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past, Mortal Kombat 2, Super Metroid, and UN Squadron. I plan on getting more carts again for my collection, (natch) but that will take time, unfortunately. Depending on what happens in the next several months, may expand this list with some new ones added. In summary: This machine I definitely find to really be worth the money. I have heard that there are some carts that are incompatible with it, like Street Fighter Alpha 2, and Super Mario RPG. Since I don’t own them, obviously I can’t vouch one way or the other. I know that it feels great to be able to play my old games again, and I love going down nostalgia lane with them. I definitely recommend this console to those whom wish to play those wonderful old SNES games again. I thank Gamerz Tek for creating this machine, and a big shoutout of thanks to Gamester81 on youtube for doing your review of the machine. Peace out, all, and happy gaming!

To go SNES or SNES Flashback Mini?
The best way to begin this review is to ask yourself would you rather have this or the SNES FLASHBACK MINI?I thought about buying the SNES FLASHBACK MINI which is obviously more expensive because it has the games built into it. After a while, I realized I was only going to buy it for games I had already purchased some years ago. My situation was that my old SNES would not connect to my new tv. So, I decided to go with this less expensive device seeing that I already had the cartridges I wanted to play.PROS (1) The price is right. (2) It comes with 2 controllers. (3) It seemed to play all my SNES cartridges. (4) The connections (composite cables) are external. So you can easily switch it in and out with your DVD player. (5) And the look of this device will offer you some pleasant nostalgic moments.CONS (1) I don’t consider this a problem. But I know some people will. It connects to your tv via composite cables and not HDMI. (I don’t have a problem with this. But I know some people will want to know that. (2) Minor complaint, but kind of an unfair one. The SNES games were made before HDTV. So you will notice the games look ‘dottier’ than before. Now I’m guessing the SNES FLASHBACK MINI compensated for that. But while it is a minor complaint, I will admit it’s not really a fair one seeing when the cartridges were made. (3) The controllers are good. But at times they don’t seem quite as responsive as the original SUPER NES controllers. Being fair, it’s only something I notice occasionally. (4) There is no cartridge eject button (like the original had). So you have to gently pull the games out. Though while this is a pain at first, you kind of get used to it.FINAL ANALYSIS Should you buy this device? The answer alas is, ‘it depends.’ If you are new to the SUPER NES and want to know what it was all about, I’d say go with the more expensive SUPER NES MINI with the games built in. If on the other hand, you already have the games from long ago you want to play again, I’d say save yourself some money and just buy this device.FINAL NOTE: People say this device can be sensitive and you may have to clean your cartridges. I have to admit though I did NOT have this problem. My cartridges (after sleeping for some years) played just fine. So despite some minor things, (some of them unfair all things considered), I am happy with this device.

A good addition
I was glad to find this system online. My original SNES was stolen a couple years ago. I still had all the games, but couldn’t bring myself to sell them. I didn’t want to pay the going rate for a new system though. I was looking on Amazon for gift ideas and just happened to see this unit. I bought it that night. The system works great. It seems to be made with thinner plastic than the original and the games are hard to get in and out…it takes a lot of force…so it makes me wonder about the longevity of it all, but so far, everything plays without an issue and hookup was easy.

Has problems.
i was excited to get a system to play my old SNES games. I was impressed at how careful the console and accessories were packed. My excitement ended when I put a game into the console and the game did not work. I tried the reset button because the console arrived with the power turned on. Resetting the console did not work so I tried to turn the power off but pressing the power button did not turn the power off.I then decided to remove the game from the console only to find that there was nothing to push on the console to easily remove the game from the console (the original SNES console has a section to push to remove games). I had a very hard time removing the game from the console but I had to remove and reinstall the game several times before the game worked.I decided to return the console to get a refund. After requesting a refund I received an email with a return address that requires me to pay return postage for the system.Beware if you buy this unit you will lose money because the return postage is paid by the purchaser.

Works great but the cartridge slot is too tight!
Works on all my SNES/Super Famicom games from different regions. However the cartridge slot is very tight and removing the cartridge takes so much force that over time might damage your cartridges.

This product is awesome. I was skeptical on paying the listed price of 75+ dollars for a original Super Nintendo console as they’re older and I wondered how long it would even work for. I decided to try out one of these consoles for much cheaper and it’s awesome. So far I’ve tried out 2 different Super Nintendo games which I purchase on Amazon and they both work with no problem. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because it didn’t come with appropriate cord for my newer flat screen smart tv I had to hook it up to my older one. I looked up online and there is a way to purchase a certain cord to work on my smart tv so it’s not impossible or anything just kind of inconvenient.

This is a knock off and not a Nintendo product. I got sick of waiting for the NES Classic to be available so I bought this. I had to buy games so spent a bit more than I wanted. This knock-off works fine. The games get a bit stuck in the machine but not too big a deal. I’m not much of a “gamer” The Super NES is the newest console, I ever owned. This is a nostalgia buy. I will probably play the heck out of this thing for about a month before it takes up space in the closet. (It’s small so it shouldn’t take up too much space). For my purpose this system works just fine. I’ve only played two games so far, with a few more to come. For the price, I’m happy

Great, affordable replacement console
The included controllers are a little stiff, but they’re adequate, and if you have original controllers they will work. All of my old SNES games worked with this console, and the image quality is good — you would need to buy an AV cable for an original system to avoid grainy images, but this comes with it. The system is more sensitive to dust than the original. I did not need to clean most games (as was recommend by the manufacturer), but one game required two cleanings to work.If you are looking for an affordable way to play your old games, this is a great option.

Cool
Not sure if it was the clone or the multi game card I had, but everything worked the very first time. Video quality is horrible on my 55 tv but sound was great. The Second time I started to play was not acceptable because the sound would not work. I smiled and giggled playing games when I was young, so I’m gonna check out the actual Super Nintendo classic edition with the games built in. Yes it’s more expensive but quality and sound are expected from me.

A really good NSNES Clone.
It works fine. One of the controllers is smooth and working well. I do love that this unit is USB powered. I also love that they put Composite RCA connectors on it, making it very easy to attach to any TV. The price is excellent as well. It is a shame that this clone does NOT come with a cartridge. I used one that I had.

console is great! power supply needs review…
The product is exactly what is in the description and it plays games perfectly with no input issues. Controllers are very comfortable buttons are more firm than the originals but they have a great modern feel. Only reason this gets a 4 star is because the power supply cable and brick are worthless. having it for 20 minutes they burned out i had spares from my older phones just match the output to what the stock sticker says and you’ll be back gaming in no time.

Great Machine, but Read if You’re Going to Try This on a New TV
I had trouble getting output to my television in the family room through the component input. The Vizio TV had a hard time interpreting the output as I think it was expecting 480i (composite) but the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (and presumably, this unit as well) outputs 240i. So for a brief moment I had indication it had something, as depicted by the “480i” icon on the screen, but the TV the proceeded to “cutout” what it perceived as noise.I tried to connect an actual SNES to that TV with the same result, but I noticed when I connected it to an older LCD television, I could actually get a picture. So sadly I can’t (yet) play Super Mario Kart unless I want play on a somewhat smaller screen. I am keenly aware in the broad spectrum of humanity this is a very tiny problem, but I am still sad.

Impressive hardware clone of the SNES
I ended up getting this because I decided I wanted to get back into retrogaming, and my sister ended up with our childhood SNES. I saw the good reviews on this and decided to buy one. This is an impressive unit. Since it is NOT an emulator, it supports the Super Game Boy, multicarts, cartridges with special chips, and peripherals like the SNES mouse (or the Hyperkin version). The only complaint is that the sound is a bit loud, but it’s something I can live with (after all, TVs do have volume controls). I tested it both with HDMI and composite AV, and it works fine either way. The picture is much clearer over HDMI of course. Highly recommended!

Wow!
This system is easy to install I recommend going with the HDMI Blue system. It literally took my husband 5 minutes to prep for play once out of box and unwrapped. It feels reacts and plays just like my old SNES. The graphics on the games i purchased are as close to perfection as they could make them in our new digital age. It’s so fun to intro Donkey Kong Country 1 and 2 and Super Mario Brothers AllStars to the teens in my life who need some simple FUN! Gamerztech excellent job!!!! Thank you so much!!!! Bravo!

Great SNES Replacement – Like it more than the original (controllers terrible though)
Seems like great a great SNES replacement – in fact build wise and aesthetically I like it more than the original. Perfect SNES Slim, reminds me of PS1 Slim – less bulky but perfect and almost should have been the original. Haven’t tried the real cannon SNES slim though… No problems removing cartridges, they always almost seemed like they were meant to be pulled anyways – the eject in the original always seemed redundant. Overall way better build quality and better price value than you would get in a used SNES.Controllers are s*** though – get used original ones, they are $15 each but totally worth it. The ones that are included are bulky and feel strange – I guess they could be used if you really cant afford original ones but it makes a noticeable difference. $39 dollars still a steal considering the package. Will edit this review for system stability when I get a chance to test the system more – played an hour each of 2 games, booted 4. Will not be able to attest to color (dont own a working original for reference) or game compatibility (only have those 4 games left).

Good Product. Could improve customer service by email.
I originally purchased this and it worked for a few games in my collection, however one of my games would not work on the system. I contacted support through the company directly and they agreed that the system is probably defective. They requested my address, and I never heard back from them again despite several emails back to them. I called the warranty line and a replacement was sent right away. So if you do have an issue, call the service number next to the warranty.

Excellent quality gaming system
Excellent quality gaming system. My wife and I are in our early 50s and about 20 years ago we had one of the original Nintendo systems. We had so much fun with it. Eventually it failed and we gave up gaming. My wife says about 6 weeks ago we should try to find one in a pawn shop but I reminded her that even if we did it would be very old and likely to fail soon. So I said let’s look on Amazon” and there it was. I was a little skeptical of the clone idea but I believe this clone works better than the old original. It never freezes up and has beautiful color. We are too old for all the fast paced games kids play today. There’s just too much visual stimulation and you have to be so quick with your hands that I can’t keep up. We are really, really enjoying our clone Nintendo. Also the price was so reasonable we are thinking of buying several for Christmas gifts.Thank you so much. Fantastic SNES Clone Console
Aesthetics wise, this thing is just like the original North American SNES except for the eject button. Audio and graphics come pretty close to the original, maybe a little crisper sound and brighter colors. It’s a system that uses new parts, so of course the audio and graphics won’t match the original exactly. My only complaint would be perhaps having an alternative plug, one where the adapter is not combined with the plug. The controllers are simple generic controllers. Expect the d-pads to be a little wonky. Other than that, it is a great system.Final thoughts: there is an NES clone console by Gamerz Tek and unfortunately, that is not available on Amazon. That is also a fantastic system. I look forward to seeing other products by this company, perhaps controllers and whatnot. Very impressed by these systems. Lots of love and appreciation for the original systems was placed into making these things, which is sadly not what I can say for other retro and clone consoles on the market.

You Can’t Go Wrong!!
When I first received this, I was a little skeptical and apprehensive that it wouldn’t work like it was supposed to since it doesn’t say it is the Nintendo Super Nintendo Entertainment System. Needless to say, I shouldn’t have worried. It works just like the Super Nintendo that my youngest daughter and grandsons had back in the 90’s. The games work just fine and we haven’t had one single issue with the system yet. Everything that is pictured was indeed included with the system when it arrived. It is such a pleasure watching my youngest grandson (he’s 5 years old) experiencing the same enjoyment that his mom enjoyed when she was a child. Thanks for helping me create wonderful new memories with this new generation of my grandchildren and great-grandchildren. I highly recommend the Gamerz Tek 16-bit Entertainment System to anyone looking to relive their Nintendo gaming days of the past–you can’t go wrong.

Pretty Good…. Not Quite Great
I have an original SNES system that is very yellowed, has been heavily played, and works like a champ, but I also have kids and I was looking for something that we could continue to play my SNES cartridges on to give my old original a nice retirement. I compared several models and Gamerz Tek seemed to have mostly positive feedback and offered an HDMI connection for a reasonable price. For what it is, it does a relatively faithful job of recreating the original SNES experience, though I wish it had the plunger style eject button. The cartridges are at first a bit fiddly to insert as the hole opens to a wide space beneath the door, allowing the cartridge to enter at an angle. Couple this with the small ridge that runs across the center of the cartridges and it can lead to a misaligned attempt, though I don’t see that any harm could come to the cartridges, I do see how a less than patient child could damage the docking system. The video is a little on the soft side. I almost wish they would have put a scanline filter in between the board and the HDMI out, but it does still scale the image to a decent picture, even on a 4K 65″ set. There are also occasional moments where black noise appears on screen. I ensured the pins on the cartridges were clean and the noise did not occur on original hardware with the same cartridges, so I assume it is a processing error. These moments are few and far between and mostly forgettable, but just be aware, if you are looking for the most accurate picture reproduction, this unit is probably not the choice for you.The audio leaves a little to be desired. At lower volumes, it is largely okay. Once you turn it up however, it does sound… off. Some games sound better than others. Mario Kart for instance, sounded great, Killer Instinct had a bit of audio warble or noise of some kind during certain battle sounds. As far as compatibility, I haven’t run into any cartridges that haven’t worked yet. In fact, I was able to successfully use Mario Paint with the mouse. I also have a SNES advantage joystick and it led to a good round of Street Fighter 2 with no issues. In the end, the Gamerz Tek unit is easy to hook up to modern hardware, has great compatibility, passable sound and video reproduction and for the most important metric, it recreates the classic SNES feel and has provided a great amount of fun, nostalgia and satisfaction for the classic gaming experience.

Gamerz Tek for the win!
I received this console yesterday, and promptly began putting it through the compatibility test. I was blown away to discover it could play any cart I could throw at it! It played all the carts that other clones have difficulty with, including Street Fighter Alpha 2, Star Fox, Super Mario Rpg to name a few, and also fired right away on some of my repro carts. The system is just a joy to behold as well, love the SNES similar design, and the lightweight of the unit. The controllers are also great that come bundled with this system. I’ve tried a lot of the controllers from after market game consoles, such as retro bit and yobo. These are by far and away the best, and more importantly, reliable that I’ve tried yet. Many of the aforementioned brands just are so unresponsive, and something as simple as throwing a Hadoken, or harder still, a Shoryuken is just….well, its just not happening on the after market stuff, at least, not reliably. But, The Gamerztek controllers were so reliable, I landed every special move attempted on SFA2 on the first attempt, getting my shoto on, hell yeah! The button depresses felt really nice too. I’ve seen others knock on a snappy button press, but I for one prefer it, and if we could just go back to the days we opened our first SNES, or NES…I’m sure they had the same bite new outta the box. Gotta break em in, folks. But that’s half the fun, and it doesn’t take long to get them out of the initial stiffness. Also, I’d like to mention; its a small thing, but the blue led light on the front that comes on when the unit is powered on is a nice touch, makes it feel, well, it makes it feel like someone gave a hoot about the presentation of this console. And, was a pleasure to have the pack in S-Video cable included, for when you wanna overclock those 16 bit gems. I cannot recommend this thing enough and with any luck, this thing will provide many years of service. Gamerz Tek is the way to go.

Nostalgia central
With the new Super Mario Bros movie that came out I wanted to revisit my 90’s childhood and looked into getting a Super Nintendo. The price is outrageous for a new one nowadays so I stumbled upon this. Picked up Donkey Countey and Super Mario World from a local game store and they work great with this console. My TV doesn’t have the A/V plugins so had to buy an adapter for HDMI. Such a cool nostalgia trip to play the games I played as a kid “back in the day.” Definitely will recommend to friends!!

Absolutely loves this! It played my super Mario world. It doesn’t come with hdmi port so I had to get an adapter because my tv doesn’t have the RCA ports. It even plays the 1 in 138 game also.

Not Quite Perfect
I really couldn’t rate this five stars, but I don’t think the flaws are bad enough to warrant three. I’ve been able to get it to run every game I throw at it. That’s plus. However, there are a couple things I noticed which drop the rating.First, when I have the video in 4/3 mode (via HDMI cable), I noticed there are occasional graphical glitches on the right side of the screen, as if there were small vertical blocks that don’t get drawn. It clears up when I put the video in 16/9, but I would prefer playing in the original aspect ratio. The second thing I noticed is when I play Mario Paint, the music editor has rather significant slow-down.One minor issue that, if you don’t have sharp enough vision, most people will miss and one slow-down issue with one game (out of the library of a couple hundred) doesn’t seem too bad.

And it’s great to see all my kids gather around the TV …
I bought three of these: two each for my grown daughters, and one to keep here at the house. All three work perfectly. And it’s great to see all my kids gather around the TV again when they visit, basking in nostalgia and having a blast. The system at my house has gotten uncountable hours of use so far, and it’s only been here two weeks! And it’s fun to see them all bartering over which games someone gets to take home with them, and which ones have to stay under Mom’s supervision. ;)Looking at other reviews I have to say, from my personal experience, if someone’s system isn’t working, it’s more likely to be user error than it is to be some kind of systemic defect in the product. You have to know how to connect it. (Even if you *think* you know how, even if you connected your old one 20 yrs ago perfectly a thousand times, TVs have changed since then, and the old rules don’t always apply.) You have to clean your old games. You have to make sure your old games even still work. You have to have the right cables, and you have to connect them to the right ports. This isn’t a Nintendo product, and never claimed to be. But for the three consoles I bought, it works just like the NES and didn’t cost a couple hundred dollars used. I’ll probably buy yet another one for my son to take with him when he moves out. That’s how pleased I am–and my gamer kids are–with the three I already bought.

Very impressed
Wasn’t sure what to expect but I am impressed. It works well with reproduction carts from aliexpress. The controllers felt very good to use and the form factor seems to be better quality than most cheap controllers on the market. My favorite part was using the usb power cord to connect to the back of my tv and having it run off just that. So far put about 20 hours into it this past weekend and hoping for more this weekend as well.

Mixed bag
Like most of these cheaper clone consoles, you get what you pay for. Build quality isn’t bad in comparison to others. It feels surprisingly solid compared to some others I’ve tried. The most important thing in my opinion is how close it comes to a real Super Nintendo and this thing is a mixed bag. It will play almost everything you throw at it. Even my copy of SMRPG runs on this. The video is very clear and crisp via svideo, but is also very bright and washed out compared to a real Super Nintendo. Sound is a tiny bit off, but far from horrible.

Good but doesn’t save
We bought super Mario with this and it doesn’t matter how many times it asks us if we would like to save every time we turn it on all of our progress is lost so it makes it really annoying to keep re playing with no saving

Love it
This console is just as good as the original for not even a fraction of the cost. We have not had any problems with it and would definitely recommend! We also bought wireless controllers to use and theyve worked out wonderfully.

Work with issues
Cord on both controllers broke within 2 weeks of use. The cords are stiff and feel really old, just shy of dry rot. I will be “fixing” them myself because I won’t use my protection plan for controllers. The seller doesn’t appear to have any way to contact them and they don’t sell replacement controllers. Wireless might be the way to go.As far as game play, no issues getting games to play, but there are glitches sometimes. The controllability of the game is not the same as the original. My muscle memory from 20 years ago get me into trouble because this system/controllers are not a perfect copy.$60 is a good price for a knock off SNES that works, but for those serious about getting into retro gaming, buy an original system.

Perfect Nintendo replacement!
I have had this system for a few years now. I purchased before my review writing days. This works exactly like the original system, if not better! After having for years, still no quality issues at all! What prompted me to write a review finally was the customer service I received from the company. I had lost our cords during our move and asked what cords I should be searching for for for replacement and they sent me replacement cords free of charge. Thank you very much!
